Truly incredible what architect Barbara Appolloni was able to accomplish with just 258 square feet.
The hidden storage is simply brilliant, and I love the clean lines and natural materials that were used. The way the indoor and outdoor rooms are seamlessly connected is particularly compelling, with the large patio both adding functional living space and creating an escape from what must sometimes be a pretty claustrophobic home.
To put the design accomplishment in perspective, consider that, according to U.S. Census Bureau data, you could fit nearly nine (nine!) of the “Christian House” apartments into the median-sized U.S. home built in the last 5 years (2,300 s.f.).
