Panic raises $56,224 for Japan
x-posted from punchingIN
My $35 for Transmit are in there somewhere, which feels great, but I have to admit that the amount raised is much more than I had expected. Fantastic. Congratulations to the folks at Panic.
It looks like other developers are jumping on the bandwagon, too. Yesterday, I received an email from PopCap Games announcing a similar promotion this weekend:
On Saturday and Sunday, March 19 & 20, PopCap will donate all its proceeds from the sale of iPhone and iPad games to the International Red Cross and their ongoing relief efforts in Japan.
And the Mac Game Store is now offering a bundle of 15 games — including the Mac version of Mondo Solitaire, a favorite of mine on the iPad — for just $19.95. Even if you only like one or two of the apps, it’s still a great deal:
Proceeds from the sale of the bundle will be donated to the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami disaster relief fund through the American Red Cross.
