From the heat, to the snow
It’s about 30 degrees warmer at the house, but just cool enough here to still have some snow on the ground. The drive up to Mount Rainier is truly phenomenal. Incredible views and scenery, of course. But even better for a car nut like me, the roads are curvy and smooth, especially inside the park itself. A driver’s dream. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to come back out here. Last time I was here was about 9 years ago, and even then I only ventured to the outskirts of the park. Shame on me.
I definitely will come back. The MINI is fantastic on these twisties, too. The only thing that keeps me from driving faster is the risk of going off the road over a cliff and plummeting 800 feet to my death. So, there’s that. Otherwise, it’s a hoot. Best drive in Washington state I’ve found so far.
